Microbot Medical Data Backs Liberty Endovascular Surgical Robot

Microbot Medical presented data from its ACCESS-PVI pivotal trial at the Society of Interventional Radiology (SIR) annual meeting.

The data concluded that robotic endovascular procedures using the company’s Liberty endovascular robotic system are feasible and significantly minimize radiation exposure.

Successful robotic navigation was achieved in every case with a 100% success rate. There were no adverse device events reported through the duration of follow-up.

The average difference in radiation exposure between operator and control was (-)29.8 µS, which translates to a mean 92% relative reduction in radiation exposure. Median robotic navigation time to target was also three minutes.

Physicians participating in the trial reported that Liberty performed as planned with a 100% satisfaction rate.

The company submitted a 510(k) premarket notification to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for the Liberty endovascular robotic system in December 2024.
